In recognition of Sir Ernest MacMillan’s celebrated career as organist, the Sir Ernest MacMillan Memorial Foundation is pleased to announce its $12,000 Award for 2017 in Organ Performance in collaboration with the Canadian International Organ Competition (CIOC). The winner will be selected by the jury of the CIOC jury on behalf of the Foundation as the top Canadian in the semi-final or final round of the Competition *. The official presentation to the winner will take place at the CIOC Gala Concert.

To be eligible for the MacMillan Foundation Award, competitors must be either Canadian citizens or permanent residents of Canada. They must also include MacMillan’s Cortège académique in their program of the semi-final round.

For information regarding participation in the 2017 Canadian International Organ Competition, please see http://ciocm.org/register_2017?language=en_CA&.

The MacMillan Foundation Award for 2017 is intended to support the artistic development and career advancement of a young Canadian organist. It may be used to assist with travel, a workshop or study program, participation in a festival or competition, or other relevant purposes.

* The Award will be withheld if no Canadian reaches the semi-final round.
